RUBY'S WISH

If you walk down a certain road in a certain city in China, past the pet market with its yellow-and-green ricebirds hopping in their bamboo cages, and the goldfish and the terrapins in their porcelain bowl, you will come to a block of houses, five houses wide and seven houses deep. Many families live here now, and the buildings are brown with age and dirt. But if you look closely, you will see that, once upon a time, this was all one house, the magnificent house of one family.

The house was built by an old man who returned from the Gold Mountain. That was what the Chinese called California, when many men left to join the Gold Rush there and few came back again. But as I said, this man did come back, and he came back very rich. And he did what rich men did in old China: he married many wives. His wives had many sons, and these sons also had many wives. So at one time, the house was filled with the shrieks and laughter of over one hundred children.Amongst these children was a little girl that everyone called Ruby, because she loved the colour red. In China, red is the colour of celebration.

On New Years’ Day, children receive red envelopes full of good-luck money. Brides wear red on their wedding day. But Ruby insisted on wearing red every day. Even when her mother made her wear sombre colours like all her other cousins, Ruby would tie up her jet-black hair with red ribbons. Because he had so many grandchildren, Ruby’s grandfather hired a teacher to come to the house. Any grandchild who wanted to learn could join the classes. This was unusual in China in those days, when most girls were never taught to read or write.

Whenever the weather was fine, classes were held in the garden. The windows of Ruby’s grandfather’s office opened on to that garden. Often, he would rise from his desk to gaze out of his window at his grandchildren.One day, Ruby’s grandfather looked down from his window to see the high white wall of the garden plastered with calligraphy. His grandchildren had been practicing their handwriting. Ruby’s grandfather laughed to see that many had smudged ink on their hands and faces!Then he noticed a sheet that was more beautiful then the rest. Which of his grandchildren had produced such wonderful calligraphy? Down in the garden, the teacher was praising Ruby. Her ears were turning as bright red as her jacket. But if Ruby was doing as well as her boy cousins in her studies, she had to work much harder. When the boys had finished their studies for the day, they were free to play. But the girls had to learn about cooking and keeping house. In fact, as far as their mothers were concerned, these were the only things girls had to learn. One by one, the girls stopped going to the classes. All except Ruby. She would catch up on her embroidery at night. Many nights, her candle flickered long after everyone else had gone to bed.

One day, the children were asked to write a poem.
Ruby wrote:

Alas, bad luck to be born a girl;

worse luck to be born into this house

where only boys are cared for.

Ruby’s teacher was very impressed by the poem. He showed it to Ruby’s grandfather. Ruby’s grandfather was also impressed, but he was worried about what the poem said. He summoned Ruby to his office.

Ruby found her grandfather sitting in his chair, her poem spread open on his desk.“Did you write this poem?” asked Ruby’s grandfather.

“Yes, I did, Grandfather,” answered Ruby.

“Do you really think that in this house we only care for boys?”

“Oh no, Grandfather,” said Ruby, very sorry that she upset him. “You take good care of all of us, and for that we are all grateful.”

“Little Ruby,” her grandfather said gently, “I really would like to know why you wrote this poem. How are the boys better looked after?”

“Well,” said Ruby, trying to think of a small, unimportant thing. “When it is the Moon Festival and we are each given half a moon cake, the boys always get the half with the yellow moon yolk.”

“Hmmm,” said her grandfather, as if he was still waiting. “Is that so?”

“Yes,” continued Ruby, “and when it is the Lantern Festival, the girls are given simple paper lanterns but the boys have red lanterns in the shapes of goldfish, cockerels and dragons.”Ruby’s grandfather chuckled. He’d never thought about it before. He could imagine how much Ruby would have liked a red lantern.

“But most importantly,” said Ruby, staring hard at her red shoes, “the boys will get to go to university, but the girls will be married.”

“Don’t you want to be married?” asked her grandfather. “You know, you are very lucky. A daughter of this house can marry any man.”

“I know, Grandfather,” said Ruby, “but I’d much rather go to university.”

Ruby’s grandfather touched her hair. “Thank you for talking to me, Ruby,” he said. “Go on with your lessons. Make the most of them while you can.”

So Ruby went on with her lessons. Some of the boys grew up and went away to university. Some stayed in the house and started families of their own. But when they grew up, all the girls were married and sent away to live in their husbands’ homes. Ruby knew it would soon be her turn. In the ponds, Ruby could see the orange-and-white carps gulping for bread under a thin layer of ice. It would soon be Chinese New Year. Ruby felt sure it would be her last one at home.

On New Year’s Day, Ruby put on red velvet shoes and tied red ribbons in her hair. Then she went to wish everyone a happy new year. She started with her married cousins, then worked her way up through her parents, aunts and uncles. Each one gave her a red packet full of lucky money. Finally, she bowed before her grandfather.

“Good luck and prosperity, Grandfather,” she said.

“Good luck, little Ruby,” replied her grandfather, and he handed her a very fat red packet.Ruby could feel the eyes of all her family on her as she opened the lucky red envelope. Can you guess what was in it? It wasn’t money, it was something much better than that.It was a letter from a university, saying that they would be proud to accept Ruby as one of their very first female students.So that’s how Ruby got her wish. It’s a true story.

And how do I know this? Well, Ruby is my grandmother, and every day she still wears a little red.

Outing with Kids...

It was fun to go out with these kids. Mousey enjoyed herself. It is an interesting day! Something different from other days. Haha.. I'm Loving it!

We went to the Civil Defence Heritage Gallery and Singapore Philatelic Museum. Though it is not my first time being there, I still enjoyed the trip! it is Fun. We took a lot of pictures! At the Philatelic Museum, we bought the stampboxing activity book. Hohoho.. We have fun searching for stamp. FUN! Yeah! Do go there if time permits.
While walking on the street, we played silly games - patting game, counting game and jumping. hohoho.. Haha.. It is fun to be with them.

We ended the day with a movie - Rapunzel. It is my first time eating popcorn from such a big tub. The tub is very big! Bigger than my head! Hohoho.. Shall upload the pic next time.

Enxi came back with Mousey as her parents are busy. It was raining cats and dogs. Thanks to dad for fetching us. Enxi was wet and hungry. Poor gal! Mousey manged to find a set of clothes suitable for her. Hohoho.. She can wear my clothes. *proud of my size* haha.. My top is her dress.. My black stocking is her tight. She looked quite beautiful in my clothes.. I should have take a pic of her in my clothes. haha..

Oh ya.. There is an interesting feeling when the kids automatically hold my hand or hook their arm around my arm. Mousey just felt so blessed. =) So happy!

Do you know? Rapunzel has 70 feet of golden hair and more than 100,000 individual strands, and if all the hair on Rapunzel's head were laid end to end they would stretch for 1,820 miles?

Holiday

Hoho.. Mousey is having holiday now. Mousey feel great to have a break but she is not excited about it. Something is missing.. Gotta look for things to spice up her life.. Things seems to be routine for her.. Plain.

What should Mousey do? Mousey hope to have more fun things, more adventurous trips, more spontaneous outing.. Think Mousey lost a bit of its sparkle.

Shall come back to reality. Mousey should use the holiday for next year planning.. Haha.. Work + Youth Activity. Maybe Mousey should go and study! Yeah! Should try new things to make life more exciting.. Rite?

Mousey was quite busy. * Really* Busy with everything.. It is not good to be too busy. You will lose your focus. When you lose your focus, you are almost a living dead.

It is good to take a break and realign your thoughts. =)

YipEE! Mousey is travelling soon. Yeah! 3 days more!

1st stop will be Malaysia for Jesslyn's Wedding.
2nd stop will be Taiwan!

Mousey will be leaving on Friday evening / late at nite for Malaysia. Should I take SBS or take the Malaysia Express bus? *thinking* Looking forwards to the wedding. It will be my first time attending a church wedding. in the evening, it will be dinner. It will be a great catch up session with my NIE friends. *excited*

After returning from Malaysia, Mousey gotta prepare for Taiwan. *very excited* It is my first time travelling with my whole family. It is my first time travelling with so many MD youths. It will be interesting. However, it is slightly disappointing.. Mousey won't be with her own's DS.

May LMCB hope tat this trip will be fruitful and safe.

Clutter personality (II)

Mousey was fully awaken when she was in her tertiary education. My collection filled up all parts of the house. Mousey have the most cupboards. Mousey started to clear slowly.Mousey would clear every 6 months (hehe.. during holiday period). Mousey is still learning to de-clutter.

Mousey remembered that Mousey started clearing her memento first. Hoho.. Cuz they formed the largest part of her collection initially. It was painful. *ouch!* It is kind of painful to discard my collection. So I discard things bit by bit.

When Mousey moved to hostel, her collection area was ‘expanded’ further. Haha.. Her skin care and education sections expanded the most. Everything had to be two sets. It was troublesome to bring items across the island weekly. It was horrible when Mousey shifted back.

Mousey’s recent collection comprised of University books and notes, teaching materials, writing materials (it is a lot!), art materials (the largest collection), books ( quite a collection too) and other girly collections. There are still a lot of things to clear. Mousey is still learning to declutter.

Over the weeks (Mousey's time), Mousey shall declutter as much as possible before she goes for holiday.

Clutter personality (I)

I’m a mixture of the hoarder, the deferrer, the perfectionist and the sentimentalist. When I was young (less than 15 years-old), I’m more of hoarder and sentimentalist. When I was in tertiary education, I was more of deferrer and perfectionist and less hoarder and sentimentalist.

The hoarder saves everything that might be useful and refuse to throw away. I used to save my worksheets, my notes, old magazines, TG camp station props, boxes, bottles and etc.. When I was young, I will collect others’ discarded items. I tend to save everything that can be recycled. It is good to be GREEN, isn't it? Hoho.. I think I pick up the habits from my parents. Hoarding is rooted in insecurity, financial or otherwise. We used to be very tight in cash when I was young. It is not easy to when u have four kids and one breadwinner. Rite?

The deferrer always waits till tomorrow. Mousey tends to procrastinate. Cuz there is a lot more important things than de-cluttering. Haha.. Mousey shall stop giving excuses. The best remedy: ACTION. *Yes Yes* It is easier to keep a rolling stone in motion than it is to pick it up and start it rolling the first time.

The perfectionist lives in an all-or-nothing world. I used to wait till I have all the necessary things before I shall clear my stuff. I would tell myself that when I have all boxes, I will start to pack my stuff. I used to have the thinking that I must have the whole day to do packing. I must have everything before I can start. I will wait for perfect day, perfect time and perfect materials to start my perfect task.

The sentimentalist will keep everything – school papers, faded greeting cards, souvenirs and etc. I used to keep all my greeting cards (CNY, Christmas, teachers’ day and birthday), my letters (my pen-pals, my classmates and my ex-students), all my camp booklets, my report books, my organizers, my secondary chemistry (my fav subjects) worksheets and notes, my tertiary notes, my musical productions tokens and etc. Hohoho.. The list will go on and on.

Time to cut the clutter

Mousey is having holiday now. Holiday = more mousey time to do mousey's things. Hehe..

Mousey has a lot of ideas and to-do items in her brain now.. It is so exciting. But Mousey notices that she always have ideas but lack of motivation and determination to start. That's very bad. *shake head* Gotta find the determination. hehe.. (^^)V One of the way to find determination is by writing it down and sharing it. Hoho..

The first thing is to DECLUTTER physcially and mentally. Mousey is not an organized gal if u know her well. I'm very guilty of it. Soemtime, I have to spend time to look for my keys and items in the morning.

Mousey borrowed a book about decluttering - "Cut the Clutter". It is useful. It offers a lot of practical tips. I like this the most - Use the STOP technique to attack clutter: Sort, Throw out, Organize and Put away.

Mousey tried once early in the morning. Mousey's dad was surprised as it was only 730am in the morning. Mousey was in the middle of the kitchen sorting one of the drawers. Hoho.. *Pride*

Mousey shall sort out the wardrobe. Haha.. Maybe will sorting out, I can start to pack for Taiwan. Yeah!!!

Make Up

Hehe... Mousey nearly forget that she has to do make up for her pal, Jac. Luckily, she called to inform that she'll be late. Hehe.. Luckily, she stayed near by (very near)

It was Mousey's first time doing colour toning for smoky eyes. Normal smoky eyes are pure black or grey and black. Since Jac is attending a D&D, I shall try something different. Haha.. She is keen on the idea too. I used black, brown, shiny turquoise, metallic dark purple, glitter and glitter ( my fav). Mousey is quite pleased with the result. Jac liked it too.

Oh... It is so 'smoky'.

Hmm.. Mousey is still learning. Mousey enjoyed 'painting' for others but not on herself. It is very time consuming to do make up. Mousey would rather sleep longer. HaHa..

Took some pic when I went to Pasir Ris Park several weeks ago... Quite long ago.. Cycled there..

It was late morning. But the pic appeared to be evening.. The little black lumps were seaweeds.

It is my first time seeing so many sea lettuce during my own field trip.

Wow!! Sea Snails on a piece of glass. They were hiding among the barnacles. Look at the pic below.

All these barnacles were alive. All the 'doors' were shut tight. Only those on the top of the rock were opened (dead).

This is Sea Lettuce. It looks and feels like plastic but it is edible. Japaneses use it in their salad.

This is a type of sea week. It is rubber like. If mousey didn't remember wrongly, it can be eaten too.

Hope to go to St John's island to see more of these sea organisms.

Mind over Body

Yipee! Woo Hoo! Today is my last day of School. IT IS HOLIDAY SOON! Yeah!

Mousey finally experienced what is "Mind over Body".

Tuesday
Mousey went for eco-trekking with my students. It was a three hours session. Mousey just felt tired after the walk. After the walk, Mousey went for DJJTR Meeting at TH in the evening. Mousey nearly can't wake up on Wed morning.

Wednesday
Mousey was physically and mentally tired. Ho Ho.. It was Sport Carnival. Hoho.. Mousey signed up for the mass run. It was 3.5km run. Hoho.. Mousey managed to run consistently. *Proud* The result was not that bad. Hehe.. After the run, Mousey brought Part A for a competition. Hoho.. Mousey Gotta follow them through the competition. As a role model, Mousey gotta motivate them to compete the race. *Mind over Body* Hence, Mousey gotta run with them around City Hall and Raffles Place with my bag.. TIRED. In the late evening, Mousey accompanied dad to do medical follow up. "Mind over Body" came into mind. Dad's health is important. Mousey gotta go with him. Hehe.. Dad had a long day. Mousey had a long day. Hehe.. So we ended up taking cab back home.

Thursday
It was my second day of Eco-trekking. Hoho.. Mousey managed to woke up in time to go school. My whole body was aching. Mousey felt tired. After the trip, Mousey gotta go to do Exam duty.. The hall was air-conditioned. It was a wonderful place to sleep... yet Mousey can't sleep. Gotta practice "Mind over Body". In the late evening, Mousey went to a wake. After the wake, Mousey gotta work on a review. *Mind over Body*LMCB. Review was completed.

Friday
Mousey was tempted to sleep in today. Hoho.. * Mind over Body* Shall rest well tonite.

LAst week of scH

Mousey went to work late today. Work started late today and it ended late too. It is kinda of relaxing in the morning.. Breakfast was provided but there isn't any Mousey's. Hmm.. Should be more inclusive.

Hmm.. For the next few days, Mousey will be out in the field. Gotta do ample sun protection.. It will be tiring..

Looking forwards for holiday...

First Things First

Mousey has been reading this book, " First Things First" for months. This is a great book. It enlightens me a lot. Hence, I would like to share some ...

Life is One indivisible Whole. Grandhi said " A person cannot do right in one department of life whilst attempting to do wrong in another department. Life is one indivisible whole." I agreed with this. How can one be good in his work when he has problem at home? Everything is linked. Cultivation is the same.

Love isn't love till you give it away. Don't you agree? Mousey should love MD BaoBei more.. Mousey should involves relationships with others and builds up the sense of belonging.

Do read this book! Highly recommended by Mousey!
To be a leader, you have to be a reader.

Home day

Mousey is on ML today. Throat was 'hurt' badly after 1 day of work. Throat is not feeling well since Friday. It become worse after Sat evening. It can't speak properly... 'speechless'.

Before Throat was being hurt, Fever came on Thursday.. It stayed for 1 day.. Mousey was at work then. Mousey felt warm but yet cold. Something is not right. I pop one tablet so that I can 'survive' throughout the day. It was so tiring that Mousey hit the bed immediately. Mousey slept and slept... LMCB. Fever left on Friday morning. Body was still not very well. LMCB. Friday was a marking day.. Hence, it was a relaxing day. Mousey still felt tired. Mousey went back home and slept till evening. LMCB. Mousey managed to go QKB.

On the way back, Mousey's DQ gave Mousey a pack of Strepsils. Mousey was puzzled but accepted it. Hohoho.. LMCB. This pack of Strepsils saved Throat when it got hurt. Isn't it interesting.

Mousey gotta protect Throat. Throat is important. I gotta depend on Throat to work and LY.

Relaxing Saturday

Hehe... This is the first Saturday (as far as Mousey know) that Mousey feel relaxed. There is no tuition. There is no urgent work to be completed. There is no stress from work. HaHa..

Mousey went to TH for Cheerleading meeting. The meeting is productive ( I think). We had fun during the meeting. = ) Mousey is very excited throughout the whole meeting..

There is a lot of things to be completed before next Sat meeting. So exciting.. Haha..

Shall touch up all the proposals and send to DCS for vetting. LMCB, may everything be smooth. =)

Mousey is feeling great as she is typing this entry... *grin*

Good news 1

Mousey 's eyes are doing fine. There is no increase in the degree. There is a slight decrease in degree.. The reason why Mousy's vision is blurred at night is due to astigmatism. Hehe.. LMCB. Mousey's astigmatism is not high. It is a mild case. The main cause for tired eyes is due to lack of rest. Hence, gotta rest more..

Good news 2

No more teaching! Yipee! It is exam period. =) *less stress* Exam will be two weeks. Marking should not be an issue. Next mon is Science paper (for all levels). Mousey will only start marking on Monday afternoon. 4 classes of papers should be managable for Mousey. Mousey has 7 days (inclusive of wkends and public holiday) to mark.

Good news 3

Holiday is coming soon. Yipee!!! After exam, it will be 2 weeks of school. Then it will be holiday. Yipee!!!!

Mousey is feeling high now.. So happy!!! Hope u share the same feeling too. =)

Mousey had just finished her 10 weeks of work. The one week break is too short.. Been back to work several days. Mousey missed her long sleep. Hehe..

Recalling my Graduation

Sorry for the late updates. Mousey officially graduated on 29 July. LMCB! Mousey did it! Four years have passed. No more travelling to the west. No more camping in the library or at WW's corner. No more exam. No more 'module-less' (mousey forgotten to register twice / thrice) Hehe..

Actually, it is better to be student. The role of student is to study and do well for exam. You are reponsible for your studies.. That's all. It is different from working. The roles of a teacher are endless...

Nevertheless, Mousey shall treasure the friendships in NIE. Thank WW, Jesslyn, YA and YM for their wonderful friendship! They are great team-mates. We always score well for our projects! Yeah! So happy to do group work with them! It is a blessing to have them. They make a difference to my NIE life. Miss them.. ya..

Boring..

It has been 3rd day that Mousey is 'trapped' at home. Mr Fever refuses to leave this morning. He left and returned every 6 hours (around there). He is so irritating.. Mousey shall do something to it.

Ms runny nose should be leaving soon. I will work hard that she leave me for good. Go Go Go!! Believe Mr Sore Throat will leave with Ms runny nose. They are a pair. Then I can regain my voice. It is terrible to be 'speechless'.

Hmm.. Think Ms Cough will have to wait.. She is very 'sticky'. Doubt she will leave me that early. Mousey will drink a lot of water to 'chase' all away. Oh.. One good news! Mr Headaches was gone since yesterday. Yipee! Yeah!

People may envy Mousey for having such a long break - 4 days of MC. The MC lasts till tml. Sat, Sun and Mon are excluded.. If I include them, it will be one week MC. So long... Yet.. It is so boring to be at home.. It is tiring to think about my work too.. Think LM want Mousey to have a great rest. Hehe.. My dad agreed with that. He will shoo me to rest and rest.. Sleep and sleep..

My First Official Job

29 Jun is my '1st official working day' (in Mousey's context). The one week before school vacation was more like relief session. It is interesting. One Sec 2class, four Sec 3 classes and one Sec 4 class. It is getting exciting.. Oh ya.. My CCA is super exciting. Anybody want to make a guess?

Enriching and Exciting June Vacation

June vacation is over. *sob* Mousey has yet to enjoy herself. Too many things too little time. It is a holiday full of learning values.

Mousey spent bulk of her holiday in TG Youth Camp planning and Camp. hehe.. LMCB. Everything is smooth. It is a blessing to go for all three camps. Mousey gained a lot through these camps - A camp, B camp and C camp.

Other than camps, Mousey managed to leave the country for a short trip to Bangkok. LMCB, that hx left and came back before the H1N1 outbreak. Mousey can't imagine herself being under Home Quarantine Order. Too boring to stay at home...

The midst of all exciting activities, Mousey's close friend, LiFang passed away. She was only 25. Life is short. Do your best for everything. LiFang, you are the best. You are my dearest friend. You will be missed.

Fang, the fighting gal

In the midst of camps, Mousey's best friend, LiFang was transferred to ICU unit. Her condition was not positive. Mousey managed to visit her after C camp. LMCB, LiFang recovered slightly.

The next thing I know on Friday, the eve of DuJingSai, Fang's mum called in late morning to inform that LiFang was in critical condition. With the help of Hum, Mousey managed to visit LiFang in the afternoon. Mousey saw LiFang's mum and brother upon arriving the ICU.

" QY, LiFang is naughty. LiFang went overseas. She went without us. QY, LiFang is very bad."
Mousey gave LiFang's Mum a blank look when I heard this. At the same time, a lot of thoughts went through my mind, " What is Aunt trying to say? How can LiFang go overseas?"
Mousey was very lost. Mousey looked up to MingLe (LiFang's brother) and asked a 'safe' question, " What are we suppose to do now?"
" We are waiting for her body. "

It was too sudden. Mousey was speechless and lost. Shortly, the nurse came out to inform us to take a last look. LMCB, Mousey managed to see my best friend for the last time.

Mousey believed that Fang fought her very best. She must be tired. She must be very tired. She was resting peacefully. It looked like she was sleeping. It is a blessing. She was the only one in the family with 3T. LMCB.

It was teary moment in the ICU. Mousey can’t stand it and left shortly. The journey back to TG was a long one. My secondary school and our gathering memories flowed into my mind. Life is short. Life has to go on. Upon reaching TG, mousey continued with the DuJing Preparation. My thoughts were focused on DuJingSai. Night time was the terrible. Thoughts raced into my mind.

Thanks to Dad and Hum, Mousey managed to attend LiFang's wake during the peak weekends (DuJingSai) and cremation on Tuesday. Her death triggered a lot of our classmates to rethink their focus in life. Life is not about career, money and status. There are things bigger than these. Family? Friends? Health?

Her death means alot to me. Life is short. Treasure it. Just do it!

Hey.. I didn't know that mekong river has dolphins till today. I was suprized to see the news.

Mekong river flows through Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and the southern Chinese province of Yunnan. It supports various living creatures including Irrawaddy dolphins.

Dolphins are cute, intelligent mammals. They ought to have a better living condition. Shoo off the polluntants.. Welcome fresh water. More actions have to be done.

In Singapore, we have various swamps. Our swamps supports various important animals and plants. We have to play our part to support our important 'green lungs' - swamps helps to clean up our air. Swamp cleaning is a good way to protect our swamps. By cleaning up the rubbish, animals would not be choke. An easier way to start will be stop littering. =)

Oh.. Mousey like Lotus Root. Deep fried lotus root. Lotus Root soup. Stir-fried lotus root.. All are so Yummy!!!

Mousey read a health article on Lotus Root and decided to share with everybody.

Lotus Root is rich in iron (needed in new blood cell production), potassium ( important for muscle cell and neuron), and the vitamin B and C ( for chemical reaction). Its rich fibre content helps to reduce constipation.

I miss lotus root.. Shall hint Mummy about lotus root dish tonite.

Body Language

Our body produces various noises. What do these noises mean?

A burp : When we eat too fast or under stress, our body produces burps. It is a sign that our body isn't ready for proper digestion to take place. It is also a sign you've swallow too much air.

Solution: Eat slowly and avoid carbonate drink.

A yawn: It is a way of taking in more oxygen so that our mind will be alert.

Solution: Take a nap, drink water or do some deep breathing.

A click (joint): It is due to the movement of fluid around our joint.

Solution: Take more omega-three or omega- six food to reduce the 'clicking' sound.

End of TP

10 weeks of TP is finally over!!! YEah! Time for break! YiPeE! Time for Mousey to do DeShu and TG youth stuff.

My last week of TP ended with a good closure. =) Flowers and gifts are given to my P, VP, HOD, CTs and Lab Tech. GreeNie took lots of photo and had lots of fun. We ended our Friday with a meal. It is a great learning and fun experience.

Mousey was happy to have a 2 months holiday befor starting another chapter in life (Chapter 6 - working life). The thought of having 2 months holiday was 'smashed' by an email on Thursday evening.

" Dear Miss XXX XXXX XXXX,
You are posted to GxxxxVxxx Secondary School......"

Oh! I'm posted back to the same school. I was shocked. It took me a day to get over it.

The email stated that Mousey has to report to school on 25 May. *Sob Sob* It is not June!!! So sad... I want my long holiday... *SobSob*.

For the next two weeks, Mousey is back to 'travel to west' journey. After two week of intensive workshop, Mousey is given a week to relax before starting work. It is so SHORT. *Sob Sob*.

Nevertheless, Mousey shall make use of this short three weeks to do as much as possible. Shall devote this three weeks for camp planning and DeShu planning.

O.N.E Week more...

Hey.. One more week to end of my TP. Yipee! Mousey have been looking forwards to this break.
After so many weeks of hard work and late nite, Mousey miss her great sleep and fun days.

My TP is quite interesting. Each day was an exciting day. hohoho..

My Sec 3A is a likeable class. They are motivated to learn and cheeky. There are so many interesting character in the class. It is a joy to be with them. There are Charmanie, Shermanie, Chermanie, two Atiqah and one Afiqah in this class. To make things more exciting, there is a pair of twins in this class.

For Charmanie, Shermanie and Chermanie, this is their favourite question. " Cher, Cher! What is my name?" *Faint* I gotta think hard to ensure that I get the right name. haha..

For my Sec 2, they have to be 'amazed' for each lesson. It is very challenging to prepare lesson for them. (-_-) they are looking forwards for experiments, videos, songs and jokes. Mousey felt like a performer than a teacher. haha..

Physic lesson

Oh no.. Mousey is not trained in physic and yet require to teach physic lession.

Forces, Gravity, Magnetic force, pressure... All are so 'alien' to me. Mousey is not confident in teaching this topic. Hence, my lesson is not as interesting as Biology lesson. My supervisor gave me a lot of suggestions for this topic.

Her suggestions are interesting.. It can be applied to life principles too. Shall try it in DeShu activities and maybe in camp planning. =)

Mousey cleared 4 observations this week. 2 on Wednesday and 2 on Thursday. My observations for Wednesday lesson are good. =) As for Thursday lesson, I am not that sure. I believe that my Sec Three NA lesson is ok. Shall wait for feedback today. =)

It is not easy to prepare for observation.. Lesson Plans.. Powerpoint Slides.. Worksheets.. Demonstration.. Video.. Inquiry.. Mousey slept very little for these few days. * Yawn*

Anyway, only one more to go! Shall Work hard for my last one!

Have you been to Tampines One?

Mousey been there twice last week but both trips are not 'completed'. Mousey did not get to 'say hi' to all the shops.

Both trips were conducted during the weekdays. Guess what? Tampines One was crowded with people. Oh my... Every where was full of people.

The mall is bigger than I expected. So many interesting shops.. Mousey only managed to covered half of the mall.
Uniqlo is the most interesting shop. Crowd control is needed. The opening hours have been changed too since its' opening. What is so exciting about this shop? *Thinking*

Another interesting shop is 'Click'. 'Click' sells clothes and IT gadgets. It is a smart concept to fuse clothes and IT toys together. It caters to the needs of both genders. Interesting...

Mousey shall visit Tampines One one day to 'complete' it. Shall wait for all stores to be ready.. Shall wait for my pay to come too. hehehe...

Five weeks...

Half of practicum is gone. I have another half to go. =)

Mousey is determined to do well for my last lap. Go Go Go!

I shall get up every morning with determination and go to bed with satisfaction. Every things begines with our thought.

Mousey like the chinese word, thought （念）。念 is made up of 今 and 心. 今 is now / day. 心 is heart / feeling. Your thought will affect your current feeling / day. Your current feeling will determine your thought. It is a cycle. A positive thought will reap positve feeling. Positive feeling will reap positive thoughts.

So far, Mousey is doing fine in school. Everything is interesting and challenging. =) Mousey learnt a lot. TG LY is heavier this year. There is alot of learning experience. It can be challenging to balance school and LY. Mousey has to take care to avoid being burnout. Mousey will give the best to everything!

Keep your dreams alive.
Understand that to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself.
Find your vision.
Give your hard work, determination and dedication.

Not my Day

It was a tiring day. Mousey felt tired throughout the whole day except during the C camp meeting. Mousey woke up late. Mousey intended to go to collect my passport early this morning.. Hee.. Mousey overslept till 8.15am.

Mousey didn't reach TH on time (10am). Mousey looked blur blur when Mousey looked into the mirror at TH. Oh no.. Must be awake! Must be alert!

The meeting was a great one! Mousey feel so excited! The planning com is great! Mousey believe this year C camp will be an exciting one!

After the meeting, we went to YD's stall for lunch. We have bonding session over lunch. After lunch, they went for tutors workshop while Mousey returned back to Tampine for tuition.

During the tuition session, Mousey nearly fall asleep. Too tired.. Mousey rushed home to sleep for a while.. Mousey can't stand the tired mood, so Mousey look for my 'energy' water - Pokka carrot juice.. *Sob Sob* No pokka carrot juice.. No Pokka lemon lime drink.. Mousey can't find them around my neighbourhood. Mousey ended up with Mango yougurt Smoothies. It is great! Mousey feel better then. =)

Mousey have to do something to her life. Mousey have to plan and reorganize.
This is not the life Mousey want. Tired is a sign that something must be changed. Somethings have to let go.. So that other important things can have more room.

It is time to reflect. What do Mousey want? What should Mousey let go? What is more important?

Mousey is feeling very green now. Don't get Mousey wrong! Mousey is not jealous. Feeling green as in feeling passionate about environment.

Mousey was doing research on Saving Electricity, one of the lower sec sci topic. Saving electricity is important in Singapore. By saving electricity --> save fossil fuel and reduce air pollution --> save the earth.

Mousey begins to love National Environment Agency (NEA) website. Mousey was feeling excited as Mousey looked through NEA website. Is it the content that made Mousey excited or is it the 'milo + coffee' drink that made Mousy feeling so 'high'?

WoW! Wow! Mousey finally found the video - As Daylight Dies in NEA website. So happy! This video leaves a deep impression when I first saw it last year. So happy to see it again! Yeah!!

[老师]story

Thanks to SiRu for reminding me about 老师. Mousey decided to blog about it.

Last week, Mousey took MD bus home after DJR. On the bus, one of the children told her mum, " 妈咪！我们的老师！” Mousey thought that she mistaken.. Cuz she is too young to be my students. She is only Primary level. So Mousey didn't pay much attention to the comment.

As mousey was talking to one of the ftz, suddenly, a head pop out from the front seat, " 老师！你跟我们回家啊？" Mousey was shocked by her action and lost by her words. Back in my head, i'm thinking, "Did i teach you before? Did i see you before?'.

Then another head pop out beside the girl's head, "老师！你住tampines?"

Oh... They must be the DJ children. Mousey have never seen them before. They must be new. These children like to ask a lot of questions... "老师here.. 老师there..".

They even reminded Mousey loudly, "老师，你的家到了！" Haha... They are very loud.

Back home, SiRu, my beloved one, continued the '老师' story.. She even changed my contact to 老师in her mobile phone. *Speechless*

We have DuJing over Mousey's side today. The two kids came.. They start to call '老师' again. Haha...

So funny... All the children are so adorable. They are keen in learning. LMCB. =)

My Last Break in UNI

It should be a break (16 Feb to 22 Feb).. However, it ended up as a 'rushing assignment' break. Mousey went back to school for 4 days during the break. It was a tiring and exciting break. It was worse than school days. Mousey camp-ed in school from day to night for the four days.

On Monday, five of us (Jess, YA, WW, Cath and Mousey) met to work on Chem Assignment. On Wednesday, I can't remember what assignments are we meeting.. Is it Bio? Oh.. Thursday is a Bio - day. Friday is the submission day. After submission, Mousey travelled from West to East to meet my mentor in Pasir Ris.

During the whole week, Mousey gotta wake up early and slept late.. So tiring.. After the submission, Mousey was in a daze.. Just don't know what to do ... Feel so lost..

It is great that it was over. No more travelling to West... Just hope that Mousey's assignments will get great grade. hehe..

Mousey is starting her new journey over at attachment school. =)

Exciting week

This week will be an exciting week. This week is supposed to be Mousey's break before 10 weeks Attachment. Instead of being a relaxing and preparation week, it is a break for rushing assignments. All Mousey's assignments are due on 20 Feb. This is Mousey's last chance to score. Gotta do well well well! ('.')v

Other than working hard on assignments, Mousey gotta meet SCM for a briefing for this coming attachment. This attachment is going to be graded. Not sure who will be Mousey's CT.. Will my CT be nuturing and guide Mousey along to achieve good grade? Oh ya.. Mousey met her supervisor. She is very professional. I like her working style.

Supervisor: What grade are you looking at?
Mousey: Hee.. Of Course.. Distinction!
Supervisor: Well! work on it then!

Wow.. Isn't she very straightforward? haha.. To get distinction, Mousey better do more preparation work.. =) LMCB. May Mousey do well for this assessment.

Oh ya.. Mousey gotta prepared for sharing for this saturday workshop. Hope this sharing will be an interesting and fun session for all. =)

Interesting Trip

Mousey went to Lai TZ's hse for CNY visiting..
It is always a fruitful session to chat with Mr Lai. Mousey learnt a lot of things from personal to managment. So interesting..

He had two interesting ornaments - one big basket of carrots, white radish and turnips and one big plate of many 年糕 stacking on top for each other.. The vegetable basket is to symbolise 好彩头（菜头）good start and the plate of 年糕 is to symbolise 年年高（糕）improve yearly. So interesting, rite?

It is the second week of school. Everything is so exciting. So many things.. Microteaching is challenging.. My practice round is below expectation. Gotta work hard.

After the XieEn, meetings are everywhere. So exciting.. It will be a great learning year!

Everything seems to be in 'fast forward' mood. Assessments are due on third week. So fast.. CNY is in late Jan. So fast.. Practicum is in March. So fast.. DuJing Competition is in June. So fast..

Oh ya.. People with oily skin tend to have more. For those who use make up and didn't wash properly, eyelash mites love you! Especially those who use mascara and eyeliner, remember to wash your eye makeup throughly. =) Too much eyelash mites aren't good. Your lashes will drop easily.. *sob*

Nepal Learning Trip III

感恩！这次的学习旅让mousey体会早期前人们背井离乡到海外办道的辛苦。虽然mousey 体验的不会比前人辈多，可是这个体验已足够。

三个坤道学习负责一个本堂的庆祝的经验真是难得。3 对60 位道亲是有一定的挑战性。要煮，要安排道场，要讲课，要看护儿童，要照顾及成全道亲，要应付停电。。。后学们的经历与前人们相比是小巫见大巫。

户外儿童班（因为停电）大家都很用心的学画‘莲花’。

老申慈悲。感恩那里的青年道亲！他们真有心！有的了愿煮，有的了愿翻译，有的了愿招呼道亲。。虽然年纪还小，可是他们体现了自动自发与无为的精神。他们让mousey想起宝贝们。。。宝贝们也不赖。。。可是如果可以向尼泊尔的青年道亲学习。。那会更棒！(^^)V

当所有的道亲回家时，后学们顺时间感到‘解脱’。哈哈。。。真的！肚子也突然俄了起来！呵呵。。。这时才发现时间也不早了！大家分工合作，一个准备晚餐，一个清扫佛堂，一个打理客厅。。。那一夜，大家都忙得很开心。=）相信这种感觉是使前人辈付出的原动力！

这种经验是难得与宝贵的. mousey 要好好珍惜!

前人种树，后人不可乘凉。后人更要积极照顾这颗树，让树茁壮成长，开花结果！

Nepal Learning Trip II

When TZs and RCs went to the monastery, main prayer hall left one TZ and Mousey alone. Wow.. Out of sudden, the main prayer hall seem to be very big. It is kinda of scary at night without electricity. Mousey gotta sleep alone in a big big room for 10 days. It is an unforgettable experience.

As there is no BanDao, we are more 'free' as compared to the previous batches (they have bandao everyday). In mousey's view, since we are more 'free', we ought to find things to do. Since previous batches have no time to clean the whole house, Mousey decieded to do a spring cleaning.

Our Prayer Hall at Nepal. Three levels high with a balcony.

Cleaning the whole house is a challenge. Mousey spent bulk of the time scrubbing the floor. It took Mousey 1 week to scrub the floor. *Phew*

It is my first time cooking continuously for days.. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner... HaHa.. It is challenging to cook with most of the equiments and seasonings at the monastery (TZ brought most of the things over). Adapting to the icy cold water is another exciting thing.

Mousey was delighted when JunJiao and HuiMin came. More ppl more power. The most important thing is that they brought a lot of food stuff over. Yeah!!! (^^)

With three girls around, we were able to do more. We managed to clean the house, decorate the classroom, paint the cupboard and tidy the cupboard. It was a great achievement for Mousey.

Thoughout the whole trip, Mousey experience the joys and tears of a full time housewife. Hohoho.. It is not easy to manage a big house. It makes me think twice of having a big house.

*Sob* After going through the housewife course, Mousey's hands became rough with seriously dry, chapped while my legs became scaly and flaky. It made me appreciate my mum even more.
*Mum... U are the greatest!*

Adapting

Mousey is still adapting to Singapore life. *Really!*

After a resting for a day, Mousey headed out to have lunch. "Wow! It is so sunny! The sun is warm!" (-.-)||| HaHa... It seemed so 'un-singaporean'. It is really a blessing to enjoy the sun after 25 days.

The irony thing is that when Mousey went to the shopping mall... Mousey felt cold.

"Thought you are immune to the 'coldness'??"

"Ya.. Immune to the 'coldness' with thick thick clothing."

So after the incident, Mousey wore 2 layers when going out.

Mousey amazed others with my new endless eating habits. It seemed that Mousey can really eat and eat.. HaHa..

Nepal Learning Trip 1 - Coldness, Electricity-less and Sincere Heart

It is still winter at Nepal. Mousey experienced the coldness of the winter. It is COLD! You can even see the water vapour from your nose / mouth in the room in early morning.

"Qiyun.. Are you sure you wear enough clothes?" TZ men's favourite question.

" TZ cb, Hx wore 5 layers. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5!" Mousey's all time answer.

TZ men would laugh as I did the counting of layers. Mousey earned a new name - 九成糕.

Sleeping was an interesting activity. Other than the thick clothing, socks and gloves are a must. Mousey advanced from sleeping with a blanket to sleeping in sleeping bag (on the bed) with a blanket and to sleeping in sleeping bag with 2 blankets. Can you imagine the coldness?

Other than the coldness, Mousey experience the 'electricity-less' of life for 8 hours daily. Life without electricity is troublesome. Mousey gotta plan my schedule around the electricity timetable. Electricity-less period are normally in the early morning and early evening (morning prayer and evening prayer). Everywhere was so dark. It was Mousey's first experience to do prayer / initiation in a dim lighted prayer hall.

With the coldness and the darkness, the young Nepal TaoKins still visited the prayer hall for their morning and evening prayer daily. Mousey was touched. Though the morning and evening prayer, Mousey made new young friends - Yaman, Peamba, Kiran, Ramgita, Lokendra and many more.. They are so cute and sincere!! Some of them stayed very far. Their sincere hearts make Mousey reflect hard.

LMCB. It is a blessing learning trip to Nepal. Everything is fine! =)

Mousey feel so blessed to be born in Singapore. It is a blessing. 感恩！

Singapore is a small yet blessed country. Our air, our government, our water supply, our electricity supply, our education system, our living condition, our DaoChang, our Youth Group and many more... Hx is grateful for everything - my family, my friends and my BaoBei MingDe Youths.

During my 25 days stay at Nepal, Mousey learnt many valuable lessons. Mousey will share in the next few entries. It will be one of the highlights in Mousey's life.

Oh ya.. It is also Christmas. Do enjoy this joyous season. Spread your love around.

YoZ! It is over! So happy!
It is a sweet ending (hope the grade will be a sweet one too!).
Mousey had worked hard for this research project - spent a month on extraction, another 2 month on assays, sleepless nites on report writing and poster presentation.

Mousey even lugged my lappy to Malaysia to complete my poster. Tat was an exciting experience. Doing poster on the journey.. Hunting for wireless network.. LMCB. Everything ended nicely.

Move on & stop Dwelling

Whatever the past was, it's gone. There is nothing we can do to change anything that has gone. Therefore, turn our attention to here and now.

Every day that we wake up is a fresh start and we can make of it what we want, write what we want on that blank paper. Keeping that enthusiasm going can be tough. The first few times are impossibly tough and requires powers of determination to keep it going on!!

Mousey, you gotta Jia You and move on! It is pointless to compare current Mousey with past Mousey and Xuan. Mousey felt that the current Mousey is too s & s - slack and slow. HaHa.. Kinda of threaten by Xuan who is buzzing with energy. She amazed me with her power in coodinating work and ds Ly - the coordination of sport meet and taiwan trip. Kinda like the past Mousey..

Gotta move on! Live her, live now, live in this moment.

唐朝时期，有一位著名和尚，在一座寺院中从小出家。每天清晨，他要去担水劈柴、打扫寺内卫生。做完早课，还要去寺后的市镇购买寺中所需。每日勤勤恳恳、刻苦用功，就这样在晨钟暮鼓中，一晃十年过去了。

有一天，小和尚有了一点闲暇时间，便和其他小和尚在一起聊天，他发现别人过得都很清闲，只有他一人整天忙忙碌碌。虽然别的小和尚偶尔也会被分派下山购物，但他们去的是山前的市镇，路途平坦距离也近，买的也大多数是些比较轻便的东西。而十年来方丈一直让他去寺后的市镇，要翻越两座山，道路崎岖难行，回来时肩上自然多了很重的物品。于是，小和尚带着诸多不解的心去找方丈，问： “ 为什么别人都比我自在呢？没有人强迫他们干活读经，而我却要干个不停呢？ ” 方丈只是低吟了一声佛号，默默不语。

第二天中午，当小和尚扛着一袋大米从后山走来时，发现方丈正站在寺的后门旁等着他。方丈把他带到寺院的前门，坐在那里闭目不语，小和尚不明所以，便侍立在一旁。日已偏西，前面山路上出现了几个小和尚的身影，当他们看到方丈时，一下愣住了。方丈睁开眼睛，问那几个小和尚： “ 我一大早让你们去买盐，路这么近又这么平坦，怎么回来得这么晚呢？ ”

几个小和尚面面相觑，说： “ 师父，我们说说笑笑，看看风景，就到这个时候了。十年了，每天都是这样的啊！ ”
方丈又问身旁侍立的小和尚： “ 寺后的市镇那么远，翻山越岭、山路崎岖，你又扛了那么重的东西，为什么回来的早一些呢？ ” 小和尚说： “ 我每天在路上都想着早去早回，又因为肩上的东西重，我才更小心去走，所以反而走得稳走得快。十年了，我已养成了习惯，心里只有目标，没有道路了！ ”

方丈闻言大笑，说： “ 道路平坦了，心反而不在目标上了。只有在坎坷的路上行走，才能磨炼一个人的心志啊！ ”

几个月后，寺里忽然严格考核众僧，从体力到毅力，从经书到悟性，面面俱到。小和尚由于十年的磨炼，所以在众僧中脱颖而出，被选拔出来去完成一项特殊的使命。这个当年的小和尚，就是后来著名的玄奘法师。在西去的途中，虽水阻山隔，艰险重重，他的心却一直闪耀着求法的坚毅之光。

可见道路的艰难坎坷，并不是取得成功的最大障碍，而是在面临磨难时，能保持一颗正确的心态，才是最关键的。只有我们充分认识到磨难是一种取得成功的助力时，我们才会充分发挥自身的潜能，不断克服一个又一个障碍，从而取得最后的成功。

1. You can't even function until you have had a caffeine fix. --> I do have urge to drink tea to boost up.
2. The minute you sit down you feel like nodding off. --> Ya ya.. Especially during boring lesson..
3. You regularly remember your dreams. This indicates that you waking up before the final sleep cycle - the one where you get the most mind clearing sleep. --> Ya Ya.. Sometime..
4. You can't get it without the shrill bell of an alarm clock. --> Ya Ya.. Sometime.. But sometime... I can't even hear the bell. hohoho..
5. You're irritable. Very irritable. --> So far.. Mousey is quite easy to get along. *I think*

Mousey is in the progress in making over my sleep habits. Good quality shuteye (sleep) is the best thing for being happy. =)

Hey.. According to the British Sleep Foundation, for the average person, who needs eight hours' sleep a night , losing an hour will lower the IQ by a point the next day. So scary.. Mousey don't want to be low IQ.

October is an exciting month. So many things to do in a month.

It is an assessment month. Mousey cleared a presentation last week and one micro-teaching assessment today. Next week is the report submission week. Haha.. Two reports due. Exciting!

Other than assessment month, it is a month to complete my FYP. My FYP is coming to an end soon. Nov is my report submission and poster presentation month. Exciting!!!

Mousey's life is not only about sch. There are other things for Mousey to complete too. Hoho.. Mousey has a translation project, sport meet, 2009 AGM...

Mousey like Microbiology - Basic Microbiology to Medical Microbiology.

Mousey was introduced to Microbiology in Poly. Mousey enjoyed the class and the exam (cuz did well). ^^V

Microbiology is the study of microorganism - microbes, fungus,viruse and etc.

Hehe.. They are small (micro) but they are interesting. That's why I am doing FYP on Bacteria and TCM. There is room for research. Bacteria is small but amazing. So many things to discover...

TCM & Mousey

Mousey does have a great affinity with TCM. For my past few weeks, my life evolved around TCM - FYP and Clinic Visits.

My FYP is about herbs and bacteria. Haha.. It is interesting yet tiring. Ya.. Very tiring.. Imagine returning home around 11pm..
LMCB, hope everything will be smooth sailing. Really hope to do well for this FYP. Jia You!!

Mousey learnt an impt lesson from the TCM clinic visit - ample rest is impt. Whenever I go to the clinic, the doc will ask the same set of questions and sleeping issue is one of the question.

Mousey used to think sleeping is a waste of time. Ya.. Shall think otherwise now. Sleeping is very vital. It may deem pointless to teenages but it will affect health in time to come. Lack of sleep will affect physical health and mental health.
Mousey shall try to clock 8 hours. Ya.. Shall adjust my life style to sleep more. haha.. =)

Oh ya.. another lesson learnt from the clinic visit - prevention is better than cure. Med is not yummy. Hoho.. The treatment is $200 for a month.. *faint*

Physical Health = Growth rate, Repair rate, immunity strength, hormones regulation...
Mental Health = Ability to handle stress, ability to concentrate, clarity to judge ...

Thanks to CYY for prompting me to blog about this.

It was almost a month ago issue (during the Olympics fever). Mousey was on the way for dinner prior to leaving for Malacca ( M camp), when YZ TZ sms-ed Mousey about the Singapore Vs Korea Table Tennis match.

Mousey can't really recall the actual texts.. It is about me looking like one of the players. YZ was being funny. He asked how come I am at Olympics playing table tennis.Being cheeky, I played along with him without knowing who do I look like (No TV around my area). I sms-ed YZ that he ought not to disturb me.. I gotta concentrate in the game. haHa.. After the game, I gotta go to Malaysia. Haha.. He thought that I was lying about the Malaysia thing till I told him tat I am really going there for camp.

When I came back to Singapore, CYY msn-ed me the same thing. *faint* He shared that I looked like Dang Ye-seo. Oh.. I see.. Liang and his classmate agreed with CYY too. Hmm.. Do I really look like her? Haha.. Maybe from certain angles. (>.<)

Mousey has been busy week since school started. Hmm.. Quite of stressful too. I have been rushing around from East to West and back to East. It has been all work and no play. But some work are quite enjoyable. = )

Mousey used to wake up between 6am to 6.30am but it is getting later and later. There was once that Mousey woke up around 8.30am. That was so late for me to go school to do my FYP. Tried to wake up earlier but the earliest for these few week is 7.30am. Haha..

My parents are commenting about my life. DCS also said similar thing. Hmm.. I feel guilty too. I'm worried that my youth will comment too.

. Hope that 'Busy' will go away. Looking forwards to more personal time - rest, enjoy, have fun, bonding, learning....

M Camp

Mousey went to Malacca on last Friday. It was not a leisure trip. Mousey went to Malacca with fellow youths to ‘assist’ in Malaysia Youth Camp. Mousey is grateful to be part of the team. Prior to the trip, Mousey was worried as it is the 1^st time being there and the picture painted by ZZ was kind of scary with a lot of uncertainty.

The exciting part was that we nearly missed our bus. We weren’t late. The bus wanted to leave without us because some of the passengers from 7pm bus took our bus. The journey was a long one – 5 hours, we reached Malacca around 12 am. Gan Xie Malaysia QX for picking us up from the terminal. Both Camp Commandants waited for us to arrive to have meeting. We ended our meeting around 2am and slept around 3am.

It is a blessing to have camp at main prayer hall (Tian Li). Everything is there – kitchen, meeting room, stage, air-con areas for activities, lecture room and dorm. it feels different to have camp at main prayer hall. The best thing is that we can pray everyday.

All worries are unfound as Malaysia JQ are well-equipped and well versed. They are great! They are very creative. We came back with another version of station programs. HaHa.. =) So interesting!

Hee.. The first two persons that mOusey saw when Mousey returned back to home are MingDe BaoBei - YD and SJ. Hoho.. So surprizing. We met each other at the staircase. Hoho.. So nice to see them. =)

Actually Mousey feel guilty about the trip. Mousey didn’t do much during the camp – floating and lazing around. Nevertheless, Mousey learnt new things from this camp. Mousey has to be more proactive and be more determined. Jia You!

First Week of Year 4

First week of Year 4

Hohoho.. First week is almost going to be over. Everything is fine. =)
Mousey's timetable is great - 2 days week. Yeah!!! However.. with FYP.. it is actually more than 2 days week. So far.. Mousey has been coming to school daily since Sunday evening to do my herb extraction.

Herb extraction is a long process. Mousey hopes that the extraction can be completed latest by next Wed. May LMCB! Mousey gotta feeling that Mousey will be camping in school lab soon. *Sob* So many to do..

Oh ya.. We had a mini Youth Lunch session on Tuesday. Hohoho.. We ate and chat for around 1.5h at the new canteen. There are so many youth at NTU. WX and HP's sister, HL are in NTU this year. Hoho.. Welcome!! Hope to have everybody next time. ^_^

As for school work, quiz and assignments are out! Gotta work hard for my last year. Hope to meet my target! Jia You! GoGoGo!

School Term is here again!

Monday will be a new start for University students (especially to those freshmen and those with newly set goals).

Mousey will be in Year 4 this time. Mousey don't have exam at all. Yipee! Hohoho!
However, Mousey gotta work hard for the presentations, group work and FYP to score. Jia You! Have to be more disclipined and focus this time.

One Day Trip

True-Blue Shopping Trip

Together with my classmates, we went to Malaysia yesterday. It was a true-blue shopping day after looking at the draft schedule sent by Jess. Mousey was tired after the Green Day.. So change money.. Took whatever amount left by my family from the last year trip.

Mousey reached Malaysia at 10.45am. Jess was waiting for us at the pump station. =) It was my first time experiencing her driving skill. HeHe.. It was also my first time seeing WW's BF, KH. They were so 'sticky'. HaHa..

We moved on for brunch at a vegetarian restaurant. So thoughtful of our future "Mrs Jess Yeo". =) Then Mr Yeo came to look for us.. He walked over from his workplace to say 'hi'. So gentleman of him.

We set off to Jusco. Wow!! So big.. Kinda of tiring to walk round and round.. Mousey spent the longest time in Popular store.. It is very big! After everybody completed their purchase, we met for tea break - cake session. The serving was very generous. There were 5 of us. So we tried 5 different cakes. Mousey ate the most - my own mango cake, 1/2 of Jess's brownie, almost 1/4 of KL's chocolate cake. Impressive ?

Then Jess dropped us at City Square before leaving home to pack her stuff for her short trip. Hoho.. Mousey will be a light-bulb if KL didn't come along. Mousey hit the Popular store again. Hoho.. Mousey brought papers for DeShu activities while KL brought 20 notebooks.

We left JB around 6 plus (think so) but reached Woodland around 8pm. The travel time was long due to jam.

To conclude, Mousey brought a half a year contact lenses (less than S$40), a pair of sandals, x number of pilot pen refills, 6 sets of art papers, colored pens, motivating ink stamps, cleanser and one book.

Botanic Garden

Green Day

Mousey went to Singapore Botanic Gardens on Tuesday. Wow!! It was a long long walking trip. Mousey took a lot of pic for school till my Digital camera went flat. Mousey should have invested on another battery so that more pictures (esp Orchids.. ) can be taken.

Nevertheless, it was great to be back to there before school start. Saw a lot of interesting things that Mousey missed out during lessons (at Botanic Gardens). = )

Oh.. So touch by my family. we had mini celebration before everybody went to sleep. Hee.. Ice cream cake.. =) So blessed. LMCB.

Hmm.. Very touch by my bao bei men.. esp SJ.. He is so sweet.. He was in midst of tear and he still expressed interest to come over to my side to celebrate. SO touch by him. He is a friend of honour. When Mousey heard his reason for his tear, Mousey was so touched.. So cute of them..

Challenging

Challenge

Mousey met her Challenge last week. Super Challenging.

Mousey went to two classes back to back.

From the Sec 1, "Hey.. Ms Koh is going to be angry soon. Let watch!"

Too bad.. No show for them. Mousey didn't get angry.

It was my first time seeing the Sec 2 class, they were like the gas particles moving around freely and at random in all directions. Mousey stood there to wait for the gas particles to become solid particles before greeting the class. It is pointless to shout to them to settle them down

"Cher, this is the best that our class can be.." Huh? Didn't know that Liquid state is considered to be the best. Mousey didn't accept it, so waited for them to be in solid state before saying anything.

"If you think, I'm just another relief teacher. You are so wrong! If you wan to challenge me, I welcome you."

That 35 minutes were long. So many challenges awaiting. Nevertheless, the challenges were cleared. Believe those super active gas particles (or should it be plasma particles), gotta best 'close up experience'.

"Cher, our class has never been so quiet before."

*Phew* Sense of achievement.

At the end of the day, Mousey was talking to one of the 'star' in the school. Then one of the gas particles walked past the 'star' and said," Wow! Your Cher ar? She is Best man!"
